Harry Vandermeer

	Harry Vandermeer, 85, of DuQuoin, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2000 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
	Mr. Vandermeer was a retired machinist for J.C. Penney and he attended the First United Methodist Church of DuQuoin.  He was a member of the DuQuoin Elks Lodge, Bolo Society of Sedona, Ariz. and Sedona Elks Lodge.
	He was born March 13, 1914 at Toronto, Canada, the don of John and Martha (Koteck) Vandermeer.  He married Elsie Kinovski on April 1, 1936 at Chicago and she survives.
	In addition to his wife of DuQuoin, he is survived by one daughter, Cass Vandermeer of DuQuoin; one son, John Harry Vandermeer and wife Ivette Perfecto of Ann Arbor, Mich; grandson, Jason Vandermeer and wife Erin Black of Lansing, Mich.; granddaughter, Jaime Morales of Hampshire College and a brother-in-law, Frank Kane of Sedona, Ariz.
	He was preceded in death by his parents.
	At the request of Mr. Vandermeer, cremation services were held.
	There was no visitation.
	The Searby Funeral Home of DuQuoin was in charge of arrangements.
